Moses and the Red Sea

The Story
The Israelites had been slaves in Egypt for over 400 years. God called Moses to lead His people out of Egypt. After God sent ten plagues, Pharaoh finally let the Israelites go. But Pharaoh changed his mind and sent his army to bring them back. The Israelites were trapped between the Egyptian army and the Red Sea. The people were afraid, but Moses told them, 'Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Lord will fight for you.' God told Moses to raise his staff over the sea, and God parted the waters! The Israelites walked through on dry ground, with walls of water on both sides. When the Egyptian army followed them, God released the waters, and the entire army drowned. The Israelites were saved and they praised God for His mighty power.
Key Bible Verses
“Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today... The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Exodus 14:13-14
“Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land.”
Exodus 14:21
The Moral of the Story
God's deliverance of Israel through the Red Sea teaches us that nothing is impossible with God. Even when we face situations that seem hopeless, God can make a way. We should trust in God's protection and power, not in our own strength. When we are afraid, we can remember that God fights for us and we only need to be still and trust Him.
How to Honor and Glorify God
We can glorify God by trusting Him completely, especially when facing scary or impossible situations. Like the Israelites, we should stand firm in faith when we're afraid, knowing that God is fighting for us. We honor God by being courageous and obedient when He calls us to do difficult things, just as Moses obeyed God even though he was afraid. After God helps us through difficult times, we should worship Him and give Him thanks, just as Miriam and the Israelites sang praises after crossing the Red Sea. We can tell others about God's power and how He has helped us.
